The Wonderful World of Barry Harris (1929-2021) included in The Official Barry Harris Website

End December I received a message that my short documentary is included in The Official Barry Harris website on the GALLERY page. I feel very honored. The unexpected decease of Barry Harris, pianist, educator and inspirator, has shocked numerous musicians all over the world, On Dec 8th, 2021, he passed away, one week before his 92nd birthday. In 2019 I got the idea to film and document Barry's interaction and synergy with people while teaching, in case he would ever stop teaching. Not that Barry (89 then) showed any sign of this. With a brandnew camera - and no experience - I filmed the workshop scene and interviewed participants during the 5-day workshop in Rome. A familiar place for the maestro, as it took place twice a year. for 15 years. Together with video editor Hidde Kroonbergs, the film was made as a present for Barry's 91st birthday. My wish for 2022 - and ever after - is that THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF BARRY HARRIS will be seen on Barry's website and on Youtube, enjoyed and shared by many people of all ages and nationalities. Let the legacy of the unforgettable Barry Harris live and be passed on.
